    GENERAL APTITUDE TEST BATTERY (GATB)

The GATB was developed in the United States in 1947. Since that time the GATB has been included in a continuing program of research to validate the test against success in many different occupations. Because of its extensive research base,  the GATB has become one of the best validated multiple-aptitude batteries in existence.

  • The GATB is a highly developed measure of aptitudes

  • There are 12 tests in total, some are paper-and-pencil exercises and some parts require working with ones' hands

  • Each measured aptitude is related to an occupation or the activity

  • Many employers use the GATB to assist in finding suitable job applications who can learn to be a positive asset to their company

The GATB is a measure of speed and accuracy and compares aptitudes with those of the general working population in the following areas:

  • General Learning Aptitude

  • Verbal Aptitude

  • Numerical Aptitude

  • Spatial Aptitude

  • Form Perception

  • Clerical Perception

  • Motor Coordination

  • Manual Dexterity

  • Finger Dexterity
